Dr. Handjinicolaou is a founding member and managing partner of Etolian Capital, a capital structure arbitrage hedge fund. Prior to forming Etolian Capital, he was Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, responsible for Global Fixed Income Emerging Markets. He also held senior roles at Bank of America and UBS, was Senior Financial Officer at World Bank Group, and served as Treasurer of the International Finance Corporation. He has served on the Board of Directors of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) and Brokertek, and on the Advisory Boards of Polytechnic University, and the International Association of Financial Engineers (IAFE). He received both a Ph.D and an MBA in Finance from NYU, and a BA in Economics from the University of Athens. He has lectured at NYU and Baruch College, CUNY.
