Treasury Department Statement Regarding IMF Leadership

The U.S. Department of the Treasury issued the following statement from Secretary Tim Geithner following the resignation of Dominique Strauss-Kahn as Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“As Acting Managing Director, John Lipsky will provide able and experienced leadership to the Fund at this critical time for the global economy. We want to see an open process that leads to a prompt succession for the Fund’s new Managing Director.”​
