Ex-SAC team is said to get $90 million for hedge fund

CT Post – A group of former SAC Capital Advisors employees led by portfolio manager Jos Shaver raised about $90 million for a hedge fund, a quarter of that from employees, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Electron Capital Partners began trading four months ago and opened to outside investors in May, said the person, asking not to be identified because the fund is private. Shaver’s team, Neil Choi, Peter Suozzo, Ran Zhou, partners and senior analysts at Electron, and Jeff Zheng, a senior analyst, all left Steven A. Cohen’s Stamford-based SAC in 2012.
