New Fee on Bankruptcy Trades Will Boost Courts’ Revenue

Dow Jones – A new fee tied to trades of bankruptcy claims will bring in thousands, potentially millions, of dollars in revenue for the nation’s bankruptcy courts when it takes effect next month.

Starting May 1, those who trade claims against companies under bankruptcy-court protection will have to pay a $25 fee for each transaction they file with the court, according to the Administration Office of the U.S. Courts.
