Hedge Funds Gained 2.9% In January

(Opalesque) In the week ending February 8th 2019, Bloomberg revealed that six out of seven strategies tracked by the firm have advanced. Hedge funds gained 2.9% in January, the first positive return since July, as the rally in stocks offered managers some relief. Also HFR reported that hedge funds posted the strongest monthly gains since September 2010. Hedge fund strategies experienced a symmetric move a smarket conditions switched swiftly from panic mode to exuberance mode over the recent weeks and after an initial positive run in the first few days of the year, and all of Societe Generale Prime Services’ CTA Indices were in negative territory by the end of January.
