Hedge Fund People: BTIG Expands in Australia

scarlet-night-sydney-opera-house-sydney-australia1New York (HedgeCo.Net) – BTIG Australia Limited, the Australian affiliate of BTIG, LLC, is expanding its Sydney office with the appointment of Rob Farrington and Andrew Manchee.

“Rob and Andrew have a great depth of experience covering a variety of client groups within various markets, from long-only fund managers to traditional hedge funds to institutional proprietary traders,” said Paul Brech, CEO of BTIG Australia Ltd. “We are excited to have them onboard as we continue to expand our product coverage and our range of clients in Australia.”

BTIG has ten domestic offices: New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Greenwich, Red Bank, Atlanta and Orinda. The firm also has four overseas affiliates: London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.

Rob Farrington joins BTIG as an equity sales trader. He has over 15 years experience in equity sales trading, most recently serving as head of sales trading for Sydney’s Moelis & Co. Prior to that, he was head of domestic institutional sales trading for Credit Suisse and was an equity sales trader for UBS covering leading institutional clients. He began his career in institutional equity sales at Macquarie Bank.

Andrew Manchee joins BTIG as an equity sales trader. He most recently served as a senior advisor at E.L & C. Baillieu Stockbroking Ltd., where he established a specialist sales division, the Alpha Trading Group. He previously worked at Bell Potter Securities where he helped develop a wholesale client base and has served as an equity proprietary trader for Citigroup. He started his career at ABN Amro where he was an equity proprietary trader and also worked in institutional sales.
