Hedge Fund People: Julie O’Hara Joins Carne’s Global Fund Governance Team

New York (HedgeCo.Net) – Julie O’Hara is the latest independent fund director to join hedge fund advisor Carne Group. Her appointment brings the total number of the firm’s fund directors to twenty.

Julie joins Carne from hedge fund law firm Ogier in the Cayman Islands, where she was a Managing Associate in the Business and Trust law group, specializing in hedge funds, private equity funds, Shariah-compliant funds and real estate funds. She has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, offshore investment funds, fund listings and fund restructuring.

“The increasingly institutional nature of the hedge funds industry means that independent fund directors and fund boards must measure up to much higher standards of governance. I and my colleagues at Carne will be working to assist the industry in meeting those standards.” Julie O’Hara commented.

Julie is a member of the Cayman Islands Bar Association and the Cayman Islands Law Society. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Liverpool and qualified as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands in 2001.
