South Korea embraces hedge funds

Dow Jones – According to KyongSun Kong, a Seoul-based analyst at research and consulting firm Celent, Korean brokers were finally allowed to release hedge funds at the end of September, when the country’s Capital Market Consolidation Act was revised.

She said: “They started to sell Korean hedge funds from December 23, 2011 but most of them will sell them in earnest from January 2012.”
