Stalking stocks pays off for hedge fund

Chicago Sun Times – Chicago’s Kovitz Investment Group runs a hedge fund in which the managers don’t merely buy stocks. They stalk them.

The five partners in the firm will agree on about 400 companies that merit ongoing review. More than 300, they’ll quickly figure, are out of their price range.
