French doctor accused in $30 million insider trading to save hedge fund

NY Daily News – A French doctor was charged with engaging in insider trading for using his position as an adviser for a liver disease drug test to save a hedge fund $30 million.

Yves Benhamou, 50, was the “quintessential insider” because he gave nonpublic information about his company to a hedge fund holding millions of shares of that same company, according to FBI Assistant Director in Charge Janice Fedarcyk.
