Australian Hedge Fund Returns Dip After 7 Positive Months

Bloomberg: The Australian Fund Monitors Index, which tracks more than 200 hedge funds managed from within the country, ended its longest stretch of gains in almost two years.

Australian Fund Monitors shows a YTD return of 14.61% with 30% of funds reporting. Fund of Funds were the only category that showed positive returns with an average of 4.55% and a YTD of 9.97%.

Australia is also in focus as Bloomberg quotes head of KPMG International’s debt-advisory, David Heathcote who explains how Hedge funds are “boosting investments in Australian companies, filling a “funding gap” left by a reduction in bank lending”
