Leda Braga’s Hedge Fund Said to Manage More Than BlueCrest

(Bloomberg) Going it alone is working out for Leda Braga, the Brazilian-born hedge fund manager who left Michael Platt’s BlueCrest Capital Management in January. Her standalone firm now oversees more than his for the first time, according to a person familiar with the matter.Braga, 49, managed $8.9 billion at her Systematica Investments as of Oct. 1, the person said, asking not to be identified because the information is private. BlueCrest, which was one of Europe’s three biggest hedge funds in the aftermath of the financial crisis, oversaw $1 billion less on that date, according to an investor document.
