Portus receiver looks for $4.5 million US diamond

TORONTO (CP) – A court-appointed receiver trying to track down money invested with Portus Alternative Asset Management Inc. is searching for a 22-carat diamond worth $4.5 million US and other gemsbought on behalf of company co-founder Boaz Manor this summer.

The huge diamond is one of more than 100 precious stones worth a total of $7.5 million US that appear to have been purchased in Hong Kong through an agent for an Israeli diamond merchant, lawyers for receiver KPMG said in court Friday.
