(FINalternatives) Close on the heels of news that Izzy Englander’s Millennium Management will back a new fund formed by portfolio manager Sara Nainzadeh, the well-known alternative asset manager is also said to be supporting a new long/short equity strategy under development by Millennium executive Javier Velazquez.
The new fund will be based in London, according to a Bloomberg article citing four unidentified individuals familiar with the matter. Launch date, AUM size or details on Millennium’s support were not immediately available. Velazquez has been with Millennium since 2013. He was previously with GLG Partners as a portfolio manager and started his career at Santander Central Hispano Investment, according to his LinkedIn profile.
