LONDON (Reuters) – A Goldman Sachs fund listed on the London Stock Exchange invested some five percent in U.S.-based Amaranth Advisors, which has disclosed billions of dollars in natural gas losses,Goldman said in a statement.
It said that, based on current estimates, the impact on returns for its hedge fund Goldman Sachs Dynamic Opportunities in September could be minus 2.5 to minus 3 percent. The overall return would depend on the performance of its other investments, the statement added.
The regulatory filing late on Monday said that because of limited information for now “the exact impact to Goldman Sachs Dynamic Opportunities Limited cannot be determined”.
On Wednesday, Goldman Sachs would not comment beyond the regulatory filing.
