ModelStation v1.6 Delivers Breakthrough Strategy Backtesting and Optimization Performance for Active Fund Managers

BOCA RATON, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sept. 9, 2003–ClariFI, a leading provider of quantitative research and risk solutions, announced today the release and general availability of ModelStation(TM)v1.6.

According to company officials, ModelStation(TM) v1.6 heralds a new generation of strategy backtesting with its powerful, yet easy to use software framework and industry standard algorithms and scripting languages. “ModelStation(TM) v1.6 is targeted at fund managers and researchers who need a quicker and more accurate method to test, refine and implement superior trading strategies,” said Gioel Molinari, ClariFI’s founder, President and CTO.

ModelStation(TM) v1.6 includes the company’s recently released ModelScript(TM), an industry standards based scripting language. According to Mr. Molinari, existing products require users to learn proprietary scripting languages and lack integrated debuggers. “Many of the offerings today lead users down a proprietary coding cul-de-sac which is bad enough by itself, but is much worse when you have to rely on the vendor to explain to you what your scripts are doing in the first place. ModelStation(TM) with ModelScript(TM) changes all of that. Trading logic can be written in Pascal, C, or Basic and can tap into our powerful parameter optimization routines that automate the most time consuming aspects of strategy development.”

ModelStation v1.6 is also tightly integrated with Risk Decomposition and Portfolio Optimization features, so that users can quickly ascertain and optimize the risk characteristics of an existing or new investment strategy. In addition, ModelStation(TM)’s data integration capabilities allow users to tie into third party data sources and proprietary warehouses so that researchers can access and use their aggregated data from a unified view. According to Mr. Molinari, “At end of the day, ModelStation(TM)’s integrated approach helps fund managers evaluate the effectiveness of their strategies, determine their risk exposures, and optimize their trading rules – at a fraction of the time and with a minimum of coding headaches.”

ClariFI ModelStation(TM) v1.6 is available immediately, is sold as an annualized software license. Market data is sold separately.
