WEST PALM BEACH, FL (HEDGECO.NET) – Jim Robinson, the CEO of Munder Capital, has announced he is departing to start managing his own hedge fund. Robinson has held this position for about 4 � years.Munder Capital has named a replacement to Robinson, in the person of Dennis Mooradian. Prior to that position, Mr. Mooradian was the executive vice president of Comerica’s Wealth and InstitutionalManagement division.
Mr. Robinson said he was simply interested in fulfilling his passion of investing money, as opposed to his current duties of administrative obligations. He said he was more interested in working with clients and investing money for his clients. Robinson said, “I haven’t established anything yet, but there are some very interested parties and I have capital of my own that will start the venture off.�
Robinson joined Munder Capital in 1997, he was one of the first employees hired by Munder Capital, and has previously worked as a manager in the fixed income securities department.
Munder Capital also announced that Enrique Chang, currently president and chief investment officer of the firm has been assigned to the post of chief operating officer. Munder Capital is based in Birmingham, Michigan, and oversees over $33.7 billion of investor assets.
Money managers continue to establish their own hedge fund companies. The hedge fund sector has attracted many talents by greater compensation packages offered through performance related benefits.
