Hedge funds express concerns over Conn. taxes

AP – Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is reaching out to hedge funds as part of a campaign to boost Connecticut jobs.

The governor’s jobs tour comes as Malloy could lay off about 6,500 state employees to close a budget deficit without $1.6 billion in anticipated savings in a deal rejected by labor unions. The budget also raises taxes by $1.4 billion in the first year and $1.2 billion in the second to cover a $3.3 billion deficit.
