Venture Capitalists to Speak on “Venture Capital and the State of Michigan” at Leadership Policy Conference

ANN ARBOR, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 21, 2003–A panel of experts will discuss “Venture Capital and the State of Michigan” to raise the level of understanding of venture capital and its impact oneconomic development at the Leadership Policy Conference. The roundtable discussion will begin at 8 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003 in the Terrace room at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island.

The panel of seasoned venture capitalists, include Ananth Ananthasubramaniam of DTE Energy; Richard Eidswick, managing director of Arbor Partners; John McIlwraith, managing director of Blue Chip Venture Company; and Mitchell Mondry, co-founder and vice president of The M Group. Jeffrey Sloan, managing director and CEO of Sloan Ventures, will moderate. The panel will provide their expertise on the impact that venture capital has on the health and prosperity of Michigan’s economy.

In addition, they will provide background on the rising venture capital field in Michigan as well as the Michigan Venture Capital Association (MVCA). The panel will also share how Michigan will fare in the venture business as it grows and various firms focus on information technology and high-tech opportunities.
