Clickmarks Announces $5 Million in Venture Financing

Clickmarks, a provider of software solutions for web and wireless application development and deployment, today announced the closing of an additional round of venture funding, investments from Silicon Valley venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures, RB Webber & Company, and Vodafone Ventures.

“Clickmarks has demonstrated clear progress in sales and product development to its investors and has been rewarded with a significant amount of funding in an incredibly tough investment environment,” said Umair Khan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Clickmarks. “Our plan for 2003 is to build on the successes of 2002 by continued focus on channel sales and customer acquisition.”

“Our commitment to the company remains strong, as does our belief in the market opportunity for rapid, non-invasive alternatives to the traditional methods of ebusiness application integration and development,” said Asad Jamal, co-chairman and managing director of DFJ ePlanet. “Clickmarks fundamentally changes the way e-business applications are integrated, developed, and deployed. Equally important is the fact that the team has achieved increasing momentum on sales and business development amid tough ecomonic conditions.”

Specific uses for the funds include an expansion of indirect sales channels via alliance partnerships and further development of the company’s sales and support organization.
