Hedge Fund People: Deloitte Appoints Bob Contri as US Head

New York (HedgeCo.net) – Hedge fund industry group Deloitte has appointed Bob Contri as leader of its financial services industry group in the United States. Contri currently serves as Deloitte’s leader to the banking and securities sector.

“We are in a unique time, as the strategies that financial institutions undertake today will determine who the leaders are tomorrow,” Contri said. “Whether it is regulatory reform, sweeping changes to the mortgage industry or the call for better technology platforms, financial institutions have a lot of work to do in the near-term. And, when it comes to growth, one of the biggest challenges is how to differentiate your financial institution from the competition through service and product innovation.”

In his new role, Contri is responsible for providing industry experience to Deloitte client teams across the financial services spectrum, as well as setting overall go-to market strategy and strategic initiatives, including helping clients respond to the Dodd-Frank Act’s operational and business implications. Deloitte’s financial services industry group is comprised of four key sectors – Banking & Securities; Insurance; Private Equity, Hedge Funds & Mutual Funds, and Real Estate.

Contri’s career at Deloitte spans more than 20 years and includes serving in a variety of leadership and strategic client service roles throughout the financial services group, both in the U.S. and at a global level.

Contri succeeds Jim Reichbach, who held the role for the last three years. Reichbach will now serve as senior leader to several of Deloitte’s most important financial services clients and as leader of Deloitte’s global banking and securities practice.
