Two New Long/Short Hedge Funds to be Launched

West Palm Beach (HedgeCo.Net) – Pacific Ocean Capital of Singapore has just announced the launch of their new fund, Asia Telecom. 

CIO Tom Fuller will take the reigns of the multi-asset fund and will focus on long/short strategies with a concentration on equity.  

Prior to heading the new fund, Fuller was the Asian head of telecom-portfolio management at Citi.  He is joined by COO Tom Husted, who also spent time at Citi’s Asian sector.  

The Fund will charge a standard 2% and 20% management fee and performance fee respectively.  

The Asia Telecom Fund is starting with $10.5 million in assets under management, and has a capacity of several hundred million dollars.    

Meanwhile, in New York, Vertus Capital Partners has launched the Vertus Sustineo Fund, which will use long/short strategies, and focus on alternative energy and natural resources. 

The fund is being launched with approximately $25 million in assets.  

Joseph Di Virgilio, formerly of Juno Mother Earth Asset Management, will head the fund, alongside Craig and Dermot Coughlan.

Andrew McKillop, also formerly of Juno, will serve as director of research and natural resources strategist.  

Vertus Capital is a global asset management company dedicated to alternative energy and natural resources investing.  The Vertus Sustineo Fund expects to have over $100 million invested by the end of this year.
