Reuters- Hedge fund firm Och Ziff Capital Management Group scored modest gains in its four funds last month at a time when many other hedge funds ran into trouble and posted losses.
The OZ Asia Master Fund Ltd returned 1.82 percent, delivering the best performance of the pack, according to documents filed with U.S. regulators this week.
The OZ Master Fund inched up 1.01 percent, while the OZ Europe Master Fund was up 0.74 percent and the OZ Global Special Investments Master Fund gained 0.57 percent.
February’s performance helped curb but did not entirely erase the funds’ losses for the year. The OZ Europe Master Fund is down 1.27 percent since the start of the year, the biggest loss among the four.
Total assets grew $520 million to $33.6 billion.
