Goldman Sachs Investment Unit to launch new closed-end Fund of Funds

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (www.hedgeco.net) – Goldman Sachs Hedge Fund Strategies LLC, an advisory investment subsidiary of Goldman Sachs said it is preparing to launch new closed-end fund of funds.According to the report, the new fund will enable investors to participate in hedge fund securities investments. In a filling with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Goldman Sachs said, thatthe new strategy, Goldman Sachs Hedge Fund Partners Registered Master Fund LLC will offer long term risk controlled absolute returns. The new portfolio will offer investors a fund trading with lowervolatility than the broader equity markets.

A team of portfolio managers drawn from the Goldman Sachs Hedge Fund investment sectors will run the new portfolio. The managers include Seb Calabro, Kent A. Clark, Thomas Dobler, Terrence O. Jones, Peter Ort and Nadja Pinnavaia. According to the release, the new strategy will invest in 30 to 75 investment funds, but the actual number of such funds will vary in line with the fund�s management objectives.

The fund will utilize variety of strategies in trading including, equity long/short, event driven, relative value and tactical trading, according to the filling. The fee structure for the new fund is set at 1 percent for management and additional 0.5 percent for other expenses. The minimum investment requirement is $25 million the statement said.
