BOSTON, MA (HEDGECO.NET) – One World Investments has launched a new Hedge fund, the One World Emerging Market Global Macro Fund according to new released statements from the firm. The new strategywould be seeking out suitable emerging market opportunities in the Asia, and Latin America. The fund would be investing in Emerging market securities and stocks according to One World unnamedspokesman.
The new fund began trading few weeks ago, One World management believes that many opportunities exist in emerging market stocks, in Asia and Latin America, the new fund would exploit such opportunities the statement added. There is also the expectation that emerging market currencies including those of Asia and Latin America would gain from the declining dollar according to One World spokesman.
The new fund has been seeded with US$20 million from unspecified proprietary and investor sources. Details of the fee structure for the new hedge fund were not immediately provided.
OneWorld Investments, L.P. is a Boston-based asset management firm that manages hedge funds, which seeks to generate capital appreciation and income through the execution of directional, relative value and market-neutral strategies in securities of the emerging nations of Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East according to company statements.
Their hedge funds primarily focus investing in the sovereign U.S. dollar debt of emerging countries in these areas. A smaller portion of the portfolio is invested in emerging market equities and corporate and local currency debt securities. While their hedge funds primarily employ discretional investment strategies, it also capitalizes upon momentum and relative value trading opportunities.
