Hedge funds have a right to free speech

Dow Jones – The Managed Funds Association, a trade association representing the global alternative investment industry, this month wrote to the Securities & Exchange Commission calling for the repeal of a US rule established in 1933.

In a letter to the SEC dated January 6, the MFA wrote: “We urge the Commission to eliminate the prohibition on general solicitation and advertising in Regulation D under the Securities Act of 1933 for offerings or sales by private funds.”
