Hedge fund company names new leader after CEO dies in Panama plane

International Herald Tribune- Days after Pacificor LLC chief executive Michael Klein died a plane crash in Panama, the hedge fund management company named portfolio manager Andy Mitchell to succeedhim.

Vice president of business development Kurt Benjamin told The Associated Press Wednesday that Mitchell and Klein together ran the company’s $600 million portfolio.

Klein, 37, was responsible for the company’s investment strategy and operations.

On Tuesday, rescuers found Klein and two other victims in the wreckage of a Cessna 172 high on the jungle-laden flanks of the Baru volcano, about 270 miles west of Panama City.
