CNNMoney.com- Merrill Lynch & Co. (MER) hired Brad Schwartz as head of alternative investments origination and sales for Pacific Rim, the company said in an internal memo Tuesday.
In the newly created role, Schwartz will be responsible for providing Merrill’s institutional and private clients with access to hedge funds, private- equity funds and fund of funds through proprietary platforms or structured products.
Schwartz is based in Hong Kong and reports to Abhinav Gorawara, head of equity structured solutions and financial products group at Merrill Lynch.
Before Merrill Lynch, Schwartz was managing partner and chief operating officer at Vectors Research Management LLC. Prior to that, he was an institutional salesman at Merrill Lynch specializing in convertible bonds and equity derivatives.
