A one-day, global panic could not derail a second strong month of hedge fund performance in 2007, according to The BarclayGroup.
Overall, hedge funds were up 0.84% in February, and have earned nearly 2% through the first two months of the year, according to Barclay Hedge Fund Index. The Barclay Group tracked more than 1,400 funds in determining the average return.
Only two of the 18 indices tracked by Barclays were down in February: ones covering technology and the global macroeconomy. The event driven index posted the largest gain last month, improving3.24%.
