Hedge fund gets antitrust OK for McDonald

KWQC – An activist hedge fund received anti-trust clearance from the Federal Trade Commission to buy nearly 794 (m) million dollars in shares of McDonald stock.

In a September 1 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Oak Brook-based fast-food chain announced New York-based Pershing Square Capital Management L-P planned the purchase through three investment funds.

The F-T-C says it granted early termination of the waiting period required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust law.
