A Judge’s Rage Goes Ignored While Argentina Sidesteps Holdout Hedge Funds

Bloomberg – Argentina’s determination to avoid the U.S. Court system and sidestep the holdout hedge fund investors that helped drive the country into default continues to enrage the federal judge overseeing the case. U.S. District Judge Thomas Griesa has declared the country in contempt of court.

The thing that Judge Griesa doesn’t realize, though, is that the weapons at his disposal have been practically neutralized by the fact that Argentina does not seem to care. Every angry new statement he issues against Argentina and its leaders—calling them irresponsible and imploring them to follow his directives—seems to fuel Argentina’s intention to ignore him all the more.
