Lightcap, class treasurer and vice president of Pi Kappa Alpha, has worked in the finance world for over a year.
“Since I was 10, I invested my money in the stock market. It really interests me, I’m good with numbers, I like economics, and it’s a really exciting industry,†he said, â€Âand it pays really well. It’s always nice to have nice things to buy.â€Â
A departure from the usual client-oriented field of investment banking, Lightcap’s job at Value Holdings, a small hedge fund, involves more straight investing.
“I prefer to do my own thing. I got into this because I like investing, and I like buying stocksâ€â€not because I enjoy executing trades and dealing with clients,†he explained. “Our clients give us the money, and as long as we’re doing well, we never hear from them.â€Â
