US law firm Schulte Roth & Zabel has rekindled its relationship with ex-Grandfield director Paul Jaffa.
The law firm, which specialises in advising the hedge fund community on legislation affecting their activities, has hired Jaffa’s Myddleton Communications to raise its profile in the City.
Reporting to Schulte UK managing partner Dan Shapiro, Jaffa is to concentrate on building the firm’s profile through media relations and sourcing business development opportunities.
Jaffa said the campaign would target publications including Hedge Funds Review and Eurohedge as well as the Financial Times and Financial News.
Myddleton will also look for conference speaking and roundtable opportunities for Schulte partners.
Jaffa originally started working for Schulte while at Grandfield and handled the launch of its London office in 2002.
After Jaffa’s acrimonious split from Grandfield last year (PR Week, 19 September 2003), Schulte had no PR adviser for four months.
Although Schulte practices a range of law, it opened its London office to take advantage of an expanding European hedge fund and structured finance market.
In June 2002 Schulte advised half of the world’s top 100 hedge funds, according to Institutional Investor figures.
