HSBC Multi-Adviser Arbitrage Fund – “Fund of the Year”

HedgeCo.net  –  HSBC Alternative Investments Limited is pleased to announce that its longest running fund of hedge funds, HSBC Multi-Adviser Arbitrage Fund, won the prestigious Fund of the Year – Arbitrage category at the fifth annual InvestHedge Awards in New York.

The Fund was launched in June 1995 and invests in a mix of arbitrage and event driven strategies. Since inception it has generated competitive and strong risk- adjusted returns. During 2006, the Fund generated a return of 12.8% and today has assets close to USD290 million (Source: HAIL).

Peter Rigg, Head of Research, HSBC Alternative Investments Limited said:

“I have worked on this Fund since its inception in 1995. This award is recognition of the hard work put in by our investment committee and hedge fund analysts around the world. HSBC Multi-Adviser Arbitrage Fund has a well diversified and high quality portfolio with a number of managers who have been closed to investment for a considerable time. The Fund has a conservative investment style, and this is shown in the very low volatility of the returns generated, and that over the last eleven and a half years, over 80% of the Fund’s monthly returns have been positive. I am very happy that the InvestHedge judges have recognised this Fund through this award.”
