Hedge fund buys stake in Team Financial
Wednesday, February 8, 2006 : PermalinkKansas City Business Journal – A New York hedge fund has bought a stake in TeamBank’s owner.
Interests controlled by Israel Englander, including Millennium Management LLC, have bought 6 percent of Team Financial Inc. The Paola-based bank owner (Nasdaq: TFIN) runs three branches in Johnson County.
Englander, described by Fortune magazine as a “Wall Street legend,” couldn’t be reached for comment.
Millennium’s Jan. 30 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission didn’t indicate how much the buyers paid for 240,937 Team shares.
