{"id":6478,"date":"2007-08-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-08-29T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T04:00:00","slug":"browne-returns-to-energy-sector-via-private-equity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hedgeco.net\/news\/08\/2007\/browne-returns-to-energy-sector-via-private-equity.html","title":{"rendered":"Browne Returns To Energy Sector Via Private Equity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON (Reuters) &#8211; John Browne is making a return to the industry where he was a long-time leader, joining a private equity firm focused on energy investments four months after a scandal forced himto resign early as CEO of BP.<\/p>\n<p>  Browne also on Friday stepped down as chairman of buyout firm Apax Partners to work for New York-based Riverstone Holdings.<\/p>\n<p>  His departure from Apax is effective from September 1, Apax said. No immediate replacement will be appointed.<\/p>\n<p>  Browne will become a managing director and managing partner of Riverstone Europe.
