(<a title=\"More opinion and analysis of GFF\" href=\"http:\/\/seekingalpha.com\/by\/symbol\/gff\">GFF<\/a>)<\/strong>, recently <a href=\"http:\/\/yahoo.brand.edgar-online.com\/fetchFilingFrameset.aspx?FilingID=4834564&amp;Type=HTML\">delivered a letter<\/a> tothis company, which makes everything from garage doors to specialty plastic films used in baby diapers, adult incontinence, and other products, stating its belief that the \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cmarket price of the Sharesfailed to reflect the stand-alone value of the Company\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s operating subsidiaries.\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/p>\n<p>  The letter also advised Griffon\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s management that they should evaluate multiple strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value, including, but not limited to, a tax-free spin-off, a sale of  one or more subsidiaries, or a going-private transaction.<\/p>\n<p>  There is appeal to the Clinton Group\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s argument, for Griffin might be too diversified in its manufacturing operations:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>    1. <strong>Garage Doors<\/strong>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dselling to the residential housing and commercial building markets;<br \/>    2. <strong>Installation Services<\/strong>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dservicing the new residential housing market with an array of building related products, ranging from garage doors, manufactured fireplaces, floor    coverings, and cabinetry;<br \/>    3. <strong>Specialty Plastic Films<\/strong>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dthe maker of plastic and film laminates for use in infant diapers, adult incontinence products, feminine hygiene products and disposable surgical and    patient care products;<br \/>    4. <strong>Electronic Information and Communication Systems<\/strong>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dselling airborne maritime surveillance and aircraft intercommunication management systems for defense and commercial markets.  <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.google.com\/news\/url?sa=T&amp;ct=us\/5-0&amp;fd=R&amp;url=http:\/\/seekingalpha.com\/article\/23432&amp;cid=0&amp;ei=l8WcRZ-mIKTQoALUw9TXBw\">Read Complete Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hedge Fund operator Clinton Group, which beneficially owns about 5.2% in Griffon Corp.
