Alternatives TLC

Started in 2006 by Carol Kaufman, Alternatives TLC does operational and organizational due diligence and consulting. Ms. Kaufman was the founder of InvesTier, investor accounting software for hedge funds and funds-of-funds. Her firm was acquired by SunGard in 2002. She was also a Y2K consultant to Chase, doing diligence on 123 third party firms to ensure compliance. Ms. Kaufman operates as a virtual COO, when needed, and as Project Manager for various tasks. She starts with assessment of what the firm has and, more importantly, what they DON'T have. Knowing the gaps, she prioritizes them with the client and they then address how the gaps will be filled.

She has been in the industry since 1979. She is a public speaker, writer and offer training classes - both overviews of the industry and accounting courses for fund accountants.
