What is the ideal percentage of one’s portfolio that should be invested in hedge funds?

Asked by Aaron Connelly

Answer By Richard Wilson

I can’t make this type of recommendation since it comes too close to providing financial advice, but every major publication has recently disclosed that institutions have been gearing up to allocate 12-20% of their portfolio to hedge funds and alternative investments. This could or could not be too aggressive for an individual; it really depends on your situation in terms of both age and level of assets.
