How risky are hedge funds?

Asked by Surej Sundaram

Answer By Gunther von Steinberg

I don't think this question can be answered easily. The reason I invest in hedge funds is to mitigate the risk involved in buying individual stocks. Through due diligence I find hedge funds that fit my investment plan and through my years of carefully investing have found that my portfolio of hedge fund investments have been very stable. Of course, if you are not careful in selecting your hedge funds, choosing the wrong hedge funds can be very dangerous.
