Generally, how long does it take to launch a hedge fund?

If by launch you mean setting up the management company and fund entities and preparing offering and subscription documents, 1-2 months may be enough time if you know what you want. Time involved in setting up trading systems, brokerage and custodial accounts and compliance systems, and raising capital depends upon the resources you have available to devote to the project.
