News in brief: Hedgies clipped as stocks grow faster, Intandem puts the focus on 20 films

London Evening Standard – The hedge fund “masters of the universe” were left trailing by soaring stock markets this year, according to the latest figures from Hedge Fund Research.

So far this year, the average hedge fund is up 8.2% — the best since 2010 but well behind a 21% rise in global stocks. Hedge funds have returned 39.6% since 2009, but a fund tracking global stocks would have risen 75%.
