From their offices in Chesterfield, B. Douglas Morriss and his investment partners are building a private equity and venture capital firm that will soon be more than twice the size of what had been thought to be St. Louis’ largest.
The partners call themselves The Acartha Group. For years they’ve managed their wealth and success under the radar — both literally, from their building near Spirit of St. Louis Airport’s air traffic control tower; and figuratively, in the local business community. Hardly a word has been spoken or printed about them, but that’s beginning to change.
