(CNBC) Stocks in Asia traded higher Friday afternoon amid positive developments on the U.S.-China trade front.Mainland Chinese stocks edged up in midday trade, with the Shanghai composite up 0.44% and the Shenzhen composite 0.24% higher. The Shenzhen component also rose 0.19%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index jumped 2.19%, with shares of CNOOC surging 3.65%.
