Australia: BlackRock Wins Hedge Fund of the Year

New York (HedgeCo.Net) – Last night at the annual Cure Our Kids Australian Hedge Fund Awards in Sydney, BlackRock Australian Equity Market Neutral Fund received double honors  winning the 2012 Australian Hedge Fund of the Year and Best Market Neutral Fund. The wholesale fund delivered 22.49% p.a. annualised gross of fees over two years to 30 June 2012.

Dr Jon Glass, CIO Media Super who has worked in consulting, funds management and stockbroking over 30 years, received the Contribution to the Australian Hedge Funds Industry Award.

According to judges, market neutral and global macro strategies dominated performance in a year that has been unforgiving to stock pickers.

Proceeds raised from the Hedge Fund Awards will go to Cure Our Kids, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of young cancer patients and their families. 2012 marks the 11th year of this unique collaboration between the charity and the hedge fund community that has raised over $2.5 million.
