Markets and Hedge Funds Bounce Back In First Half of July

New York (HedgeCo.net) – The first half of July has been much better for hedge funds and world stock indices alike than was June. June saw most of the world’s major indices decline, but most of them have bounced back during the first few weeks of July and this is also helping at least one hedge fund index.

One index that is still down for July is the Shanghai Composite Index, but it has bounced back sharply since July 8th. The index is up over 13% in the last nine trading days.

With the indices bouncing back, the HFRX Global Hedge Fund Index has gained 0.43% through the middle of July after losing 1.24% during the month of June. Even with the loss in June, the index was still showing a year to date return of 2.02% through July 17.
