Hedge Fund High Water Women Backpack Drive


New York (HedgeCo.net) – High Water Women, a charitable organization founded in 2005 by senior women in the Hedge Fund Industry already has requests for more than 7000 backpacks this year. The program provides children living in poverty with new backpacks and supplies to start school each year. Since beginning the drive in 2005, HWW has provided more than 36,000 area school children with new backpacks.

Backpacks go to children served by nonprofit partners and schools including: Child Center of New York, Children’s Storefront, DreamYard (serving public schools in the Bronx), Good Shepherd Services, Inwood House, Iris House, the Jubilee Center in Hoboken NJ, Newark Now, Partnership with Children, Saint Luke’s Lifeworks in CT, The After School Corporation (serving public schools in NYC), the TEAK Fellowship, Women in Need, and Young Women’s Leadership Network.

The time to donate for 2012 is now because supplies must be ordered no later than mid-July. High Water Women Backpack Drive

It costs about $20 for each backpack with supplies.

Backpacks for 25 children = $500
Backpacks for 12 children = $240
Backpacks for 6 children = $120
Backpacks for 3 children = $60
