Long/Short Equity Funds: The Best and Worst of April

(Daily Alts) Long-Short Equity Funds The Best and Worst of April Long/short equity mutual funds and ETFs returned an average of -0.11% in April, retreating a month after posting gains of 2.76% in March. The long-only S&P 500 Index, by contrast, returned +0.39% in April and +6.78% in March. For the first four months of 2016, long/short equity mutual funds returned -0.96% on average, while the S&P 500 returned +1.74%.
