Money Flowing in to Hedge Funds Increases

New York (HedgeCo.Net) – Not only are investors placing more money with hedge funds, they are doing so at the fastest pace in the past year.

The SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index rose 0.92% in May and that is the fastest rate of growth since May 2014. The index measures the monthly hedge fund subscriptions minus redemptions.

In May, it was the second part of the equation that really made a difference as outflows slowed to their slowest pace since the index was started in 2006. “May 2015 saw the largest increase in the Capital Movement Index in the past twelve months, as inflows easily outpaced outflows. In fact, outflows were the lowest recorded since the index’s inception in 2006,” said Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies.

The SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index provides a monthly report based on actual and anticipated capital movement data independently collected from all hedge fund clients for whom SS&C GlobeOp provides administration services on the SS&C GlobeOp platform.
