Hedge-Fund Manager Vinik to Close Firm

WSJ – Veteran stock picker Jeffrey Vinik plans to close his hedge fund after a run of poor performance that coincided with a string of changes at his firm.

Mr. Vinik, who rose to prominence helming Fidelity Investments’ Magellan fund in the 1990s, plans to return several billion dollars to outside investors at the end of June.
